|PAA 29th Open 2-Way Clout|
|The 29th Open 2-Way Clout for Powys Archery Association took place on Sunday 3rd Oct ....|
35 archers in all competed on what started out to be a soaking wet Sunday morning . It rained solidly for the entire morning before finally drying out at about mid day . The Weather didn't dampen out spirits though and the usual fun and banter continued despite the weather .
This was the first Clout shoot I have taken part in since I shot as a junior 25 or so years ago and I have to say I totally enjoyed it . It was the first time at a clout for my two sons also so the completely different setup of a clout compared to our usual target shooting was a real change for them and they loved it . There is nothing quite like seeing a bunch of arrows all sailing high in the air and finally converging on the poor flag in the ground that got shot at least once during the day . The boys especially enjoyed seeing the Longbows shooting as some of them shot their arrows so high they almost came down with snow on them !!.
The full list of results can be found in the Tournament section under “show past results” but to be honest it was not (for me anyway ) about the competition . It was just a really fun day , a great atmosphere , nice company and eventually pretty good weather . Roll on next years clout – I can't wait!!
