Cleve archers spring shoot report
Danny and Ryan lead the way at the Cleve shoot last Sunday .....

Powys archers Roger Davies and Paul ,Danny and Ryan Pinder all competed at the Cleve archers spring shoot on a very windy day . The wind was strong and gusty blowing mainly from right to left but also swirling around the trees giving very changeable conditions . Everybody found the conditions tough to deal with but it was our Junior archers that showed Roger and myself how it is done . The situation was made worse for the Juniors in that they were at the least sheltered end of the field but despite this both of our Junior boys did a great job .

Ryan was hoping for his third Junior bowman score in a row but due to the wind , his light arrows and poundage , it was not to be .He did shoot a good 1st class score which was good enough for second place in the U12 gents section .

Danny did even better , he was looking for his third Junior Master Bowman score but again just fell short . Despite the weather he was only 37 points short of his PB and good enough to comfortably take the gold medal position .

We also had a bonus in that the Pinder clan also won the Recurve Team trophy being the highest scoring 3 archers from the same club .

Well done to our junior boys for a great performance but lets hope for calmer weather next weekend at Bromyard so that us old folk can have a chance!!
